UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools Award

UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools Award

As part of the global dimension we seek at Duke’s Aldridge Academy we are currently working on becoming a Rights Respecting School and have joined the RRSA programme from UNICEF. We will hopefully achieve the Recognition of Commitment and are already making our way through the next step in achieving the silver award.

The Unicef UK Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) supports schools across the UK to embed children’s human rights in their ethos and culture to improve students well-being and help all children realise their potential. Our own ethos, policies, principles and attributes at Duke’s academy share the vision and values developed by the RSSA. We want our students to explore and challenge their own and others’ perspectives and stereotypes considering respect in relation to global knowledge.

We are excited about the impact this will have on our young students enabling them to have the skills in being positive towards diversity in society, the reduction of prejudice and support for global justice.
