Sir Linkalot, otherwise known as Andy Salmon, visited NPCS to promote spelling strategies. He started off in Year 7 assembly and with the help of twins, Abdirahman and Ahmed, everyone was able to leave assembly and spell difficult words such as accommodation by making clever memory links. During the day he worked with groups of year 7 students to improve their spelling. Log onto Sir Linkalot’s website to learn some linking strategies for spellings, dates and facts. Mountview Theatre Production
For one afternoon only Purple Lane was transformed into an Italian village as our new Yr 7s worked enthusiastically with students from the prestigious Mountview Theatre School. Before lunch the whole of year seven watched a lively performance of Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” then a group worked on improvisation and learning the opening routine to the show.
Year 11s studying for their GCSE Drama were also part of the audience and participated in the Mountview workshop.
This was an excellent introduction to Shakespeare!
