Patrick Badewa was the winner of the School Heat of the Future Chef 2013 and will go through to represent Northumberland Park Community School next month.

Patrick who made  ‘Breast of Chicken with  spicy vegetable sauce , cabbage and broccoli , tomato sauce with cheesy mash, demonstrated skills that should equip him well when he cooks against other budding young chefs in the North London Heat to be held at Haringey Sixth Form Centre in October 2012.

This is the first time our school has entered the prestigious national competition for school children. Each year, over 7,000 people take part. Past winners have gone on to work with some of the UK’s top chefs and had the opportunity to meet Brian Turner and Ainsley Harriet from Ready Steady Cook.

Mr Liversidge, who will be mentoring Patrick will have the assistance of Brendon Digby who came a close runner up and was keen to be part of the team.  “To be a good chef”, said Mr Liversidge. “Team work is very important. Patrick, Brendon and I will work together to develop Patrick’s skills and create high quality food”. Patrick will cook against the clock cooking a two course meal for two people.

YEAR 7 ENTERPRISE DAY

Year 7’s having fun at Enterprise day when they started at the Northumberland Park Community School.

But there was a serious purpose to encourage team work, cooperation, creativity and confidence.

In one task, teams made animal themed balloon hats sharing their innovative ideas and skills which were then paraded for all to see.

Mrs Beatham had the difficult task of judging the best.

The day had a series of activities to help students to get to know each other, build their skills and self-esteem as they settle into their new environment..

Mrs Liversidge and a team of teachers organised event.
